Dramatherapy
Dramatherapy is a form of psychological therapy that uses drama, story, play, movement, objects and imagination to help you explore what’s happening for you, often in ways that words alone can’t reach. You don’t need any acting experience, and you’ll never be asked to perform. Everything is offered as an invitation.

I’m an HCPC-registered dramatherapist, and I’ve worked with children, young people, adults and families since 2010.

Dramatherapy can support people with relationships, attachment, trauma, bereavement and loss, anxiety and stress, body and self-image, and the everyday challenges of life.
Who can dramatherapy help?
Children
Through play, story, puppets and movement, children can express what’s hard to say. I work in schools and at my studio, alongside parents, carers and school staff.
Young people
Friendships, school, identity, body image, pressure. It can all feel a lot. Sessions offer space to pause and make sense of things, without judgement.
Adults
A calm, unhurried space to explore what’s happening in your life, using as much or as little creativity as feels right.
Families
Parent-and-child sessions to strengthen connection, understand each other better and find new ways of being together.
Group dramatherapy can be a powerful way to feel less alone. Working alongside others, people often find connection, confidence and a sense of belonging. I run groups in schools for children and young people, and I also offer dramatherapy groups for adults. If you’d be interested in joining a group, just get in touch. Group prices are shared in advance. See Fees & FAQs for more.

So what actually happens?
Maybe you’ve been carrying something for a while. Maybe your child is struggling and you’re not sure why. Maybe you just know something needs to change. You don’t need to have it all worked out. That’s what we’ll do together.

It starts with a free 30-minute phone call. You tell me a little of your story, ask anything you like, and we see whether working together feels right. No pressure, no commitment.

In sessions, we begin wherever you are. Some days we’ll talk. Other days we might use story, objects, art materials, movement, music or time outdoors, whatever helps you make sense of things. You’ll never be asked to perform, and you can always say no.

Sessions are up to 60 minutes (usually 45 for children and young people), at my studio in Ashford, in schools, outdoors or online. We’ll check in regularly about how it’s going, and you’re always free to stop.
